Skiing

The core experience of Portillo, Chile is in the snow skiing and snowboarding, and the resort provides for it marvelously. There is no start time for skiing in the morning, being lazy is close to being encouraged. Since there is a restricted number of guests at the hotel at any given time, there are no long queues and wait times.

All skiers/snowboarders whether beginners or experts are encouraged to take at least one lesson before starting off as the instructors can reveal the secrets of the mountain and make the adventure just a bit more exciting. Then it’s off to the peaks on the aptly named sling shot lifts, propelling 5 to 6 skiers at a time to the top of the mountains.

Once on the top you feel the energy of nature surrounding you, overwhelming your senses begging you to release your inner skier and plunge into the white abyss of soft powder.
